Ingredients

1 8 oz package of puff pastry
2 pears
1 small bag of semisweet chocolate chips
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 egg
1 tbsp powdered sugar

Procedures

  1. On a lightly floured surface, roll the pastry into about a 10" square. Cut it into 4 equal squares.
  2. Wash and peel the pears. Cut them in half lenghtwise and remove the core.
  3. Fill the hole with chocolate chips. Turn pear halves onto pastry, cut side down. Brush with the lemon juice.
  4. Preheat oven to 375 F. With a knife cut the pastry into a pear shape, leaving a 1" border and a little stem on top (cut a little pear-leaf out of the extra pastry and attach to stem).
  5. Beat the egg in a small bowl, and brush the pastry with it.
  6. Move to baking sheet. With a knife make some deep cuts into each pear - but be careful to not go all the way through.
  7. Sprinkle with powdered sugar, and bake for 20-25 minutes until they're lightly browned.
  8. Serve and enjoy
