Ingredients
1 8 oz package of puff pastry
2 pears
1 small bag of semisweet chocolate chips
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 egg
1 tbsp powdered sugar
Procedures
- On a lightly floured surface, roll the pastry into about a 10" square. Cut it into 4 equal squares.
- Wash and peel the pears. Cut them in half lenghtwise and remove the core.
- Fill the hole with chocolate chips. Turn pear halves onto pastry, cut side down. Brush with the lemon juice.
- Preheat oven to 375 F. With a knife cut the pastry into a pear shape, leaving a 1" border and a little stem on top (cut a little pear-leaf out of the extra pastry and attach to stem).
- Beat the egg in a small bowl, and brush the pastry with it.
- Move to baking sheet. With a knife make some deep cuts into each pear - but be careful to not go all the way through.
- Sprinkle with powdered sugar, and bake for 20-25 minutes until they're lightly browned.
- Serve and enjoy
